How to Help Kids Focus on Their Homework

Keeping your child focused while working on their homework can be a momentous task. From kids wanting 3,000 extra snacks a day to any other distraction, like YouTube, the family dog or a crack in the ceiling.

However, providing children with incentives can be a powerful tool that can help them focus and develop the motivation to work on their schoolwork.

The key is to use incentives that they will enjoy. Ask your child what they would like to do after each piece of homework.

Using this method can help reduce cortisol (stress) levels in the child and parent and encourages the happy hormones oxytocin and serotonin.

Don’t forget to set a timer! You don’t want the incentives to run longer than they should and lose the motivation and focus you are working towards!
